Kamran Ghulam aims for big impact in future Pakistan assignments

Pakistan batter Kamran Ghulam, who scored a brilliant century in the third ODI against Zimbabwe, emphasized the importance of hard work and persistence.

Speaking at the post-match press conference in Bulawayo after Pakistan’s victory in the match and the series, Kamran reflected on his journey. He mentioned that his debut century against England had boosted his confidence significantly, and the recent ton against Zimbabwe would further solidify his self-belief.

“My job is to perform. For me, it’s important to keep working hard, and I believe the rewards will follow," Kamran said.

"I had toured Zimbabwe before with Pakistan Shaheens, so I was familiar with the conditions. That experience helped me adjust and perform well in this series," he further added.

Kamran credited captain Mohammad Rizwan for his support during the innings.

"Having Rizwan at the crease made things easier for me, especially as the pitch was not ideal for batting initially. His encouragement kept me going," Kamran said.

Reflecting on past successes, he said, “Our win against Australia earlier also gave us confidence, and I wasn’t under pressure during this series.”

Looking ahead, Kamran expressed his eagerness to contribute in future challenges, including the upcoming series against South Africa and the ICC Champions Trophy.

He said, “I’m preparing for the South Africa series and also for the Champions Trophy. If given an opportunity, I’ll aim to perform well and play a role in the team’s success.”

The young batter concluded by reiterating his dedication to the game.

“Hard work is the key, and I’m confident that consistent performances will bring their reward.”
