Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan, starting from November 19 in Dhaka.

Senior wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim has been dropped from the Bangladesh T20 side for the first time since 2008. The selectors have made six changes from the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2021 squad with Liton Kumar Das, Soumya Sarkar and Rubel Hossain also missing out.

Najmul Hossain Shanto and leg spinner Aminul Islam Biplob have been recalled while Saif Hassan, Shahidul Islam, Yasir Ali and Akbar Ali are the four uncapped players named in the squad.

Bangladesh are already without their two all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin due to injuries. Captain Mahmudullah remains the most senior member in a young squad.

It must be noted that Bangladesh had a poor run in T20 World Cup where they lost all five matches in the Super 12s phase. They also lost to Scotland in Round 1.

Bangladesh T20 Squad: Mahmudullah (captain), Naim Sheikh, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Aminul Islam Biplob, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Shamim Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Saif Hassan, Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Shohidul Islam, Akbar Ali.
