There has been no progress in the court case between the former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi and the current PCB management. The issue of financial discrepancies in the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) season one and two has also not been resolved.

Current PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani replaced Sethi last year. The former chairman had set aside an allowance of PKR 500,000 for himself as the executive committee chief for the PSL. The new management however rejected his claims for PKR 1,41,81,570. As a result, Sethi decided to approach the court in this regard.

The PCB, in response, made a claim for PKR 72,74,429 for non-cleared allowances and benefits against the former chairman. No advancement has been made on the matter since then.

Sethi has been cautious in his comments against the PCB and has refrained from criticising the board. Similarly, Mani has also refrained from talking about the matter.

According to sources, due to Sethi’s role as a political analyst and vocal opposition of the current government, the PCB has refrained from advancing the investigation so that the claim of political victimisation can be avoided.
