Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has given a positive response to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)'s proposal of hosting Test series in Pakistan.

Pakistan is slated to host two Test matches against Sri lanka in October this year, as part of the inaugural International Cricket Council (ICC) World Test Championship.

According to reports, PCB wants to stage these matches in Karachi and Lahore.

PCB officials are optimistic about finalising details regarding the series, after receiving a positive response from Sri Lanka Cricket officials.

ICC officials were satisfied with the security arrangements for the eight matches of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season four, that were recently held in Pakistan.

ICC has indicated that it will have no objection if both the boards decided to stage the series in Pakistan.

On the other hand, PCB is also currently in talks with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play the series with Bangladesh in UAE as well as in Pakistan.

Pakistan is also slated to tour Australia in December this year, as part of the ICC Test Championship.

Nine teams will take part in the ICC World Test Championship, with two teams qualifying for the final which will take place in 2021.
