Pakistan's off-spinner Sajid Khan kept his word with a memorable performance in the first Test against the West Indies. Speaking at the end of the second day’s play in Multan, Sajid had promised during a press conference that if he took five wickets in the second innings, he would celebrate with a unique gesture involving Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.

Sajid delivered on his promise as Pakistan wrapped up the Test match on the third day with a commanding 127-run victory, thanks to his five-wicket haul. Following the win, Sajid celebrated in style, performing his promised celebration alongside Rizwan and Babar.

Reflecting on the victory, Sajid Khan emphasized that while he was named the Player of the Match, the credit for the win belonged to the entire team. “Noman Ali and Abrar Ahmed bowled exceptionally well, while Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan’s brilliant batting made this victory possible,” Sajid said.

Sajid’s remarkable performance included figures of 4 for 65 in the first innings and 5 for 50 in the second, earning him the award for the best player of the match.

Sajid Khan also reached a significant career milestone, becoming one of the fastest Pakistani bowlers to claim 50 Test wickets. He achieved this feat during the third day of the first Test against the West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Sajid dismissed West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite to secure his 50th Test wicket in just his 11th match, making him the third-fastest Pakistani bowler to reach this milestone. The record for the fastest to 50 wickets is held by Yasir Shah, who accomplished it in just nine matches. Other notable bowlers such as Waqar Younis, Shabbir Ahmed, Mohammad Asif, and Mohammad Abbas share second place on the list.

Sajid’s performance played a pivotal role in Pakistan's 127-run victory over the West Indies, giving the home side a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

The second Test between Pakistan and the West Indies is scheduled to begin on January 25, also in Multan.
