AB de Villiers praises South Africa’s tour of Pakistan, lauds Babar Azam

Former South African captain AB de Villiers is happy to see the Proteas tour Pakistan as both teams lock horns in the first Test at Karachi’s National Stadium.

The flamboyant batsman shared his thoughts on the social media website, Twitter.

“Great to see the South Africa in Pakistan again. A special place to tour and a good Cricketing challenge too. All the best gents,” said De Villiers.

The 36-year-old also responded to a video where Pakistan skipper Babar Azam revealed that he used to observe De Villiers’ batting during South Africa’s 2007 tour of Pakistan.

Foreign teams refused to tour the terror-hit country on security fears and it was only in the last six years that Pakistan hosted limited-over series before Test cricket was revived for the first time in a decade with the visit of Sri Lanka in December 2019.

The second Test is in Rawalpindi from February 4-8 followed by three Twenty20 internationals in Lahore on February 11, 13 and 14.

The coronavirus pandemic means all the matches will be played without fans in attendance.
