Following a magnificent century, while chasing a huge target of 342 runs, Abdullah Shafique has cemented his position in the record books.
The opening batsman has overtaken legendary batter Javed Miandad for most runs scored in the first six Test matches.
Unbeaten on 112 on Day 4 Stumps, Shafique has the chance to further extend the space between himself and Miandad.
In the first six Test matches, Miandad held the record with 652 runs. Shafique on the other hand has already accumulated 672 runs, with a chance to pile on more runs on Day 5.
Pakistan are currently 120 runs behind with 7 wickets in hand. This will be a historic victory for Pakistan as no team has ever chased a 200+ run target against Sri Lanka at Galle.
