India beat Pakistan by nine wickets in their Group A match of the ACC U19 Women’s Asia Cup at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday afternoon.
Pakistan, batting first, struggled to put up a strong total, managing only 67 runs for seven wickets in their 20 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Komal Khan was the top scorer for Pakistan, making 24 runs off 32 balls, which included four boundaries.
India's Sonam Yadav was the standout bowler, taking four wickets for just six runs in four overs, helping to restrict Pakistan to a low total.
In response, India easily chased down the target in just 7.5 overs, losing only one wicket. G Kamilini played an impressive knock, finishing unbeaten on 44 runs off 29 balls, including four fours and three sixes, leading India to victory.
Pakistan will now face Nepal on Monday in their second match of the tournament, scheduled to start at 2 pm local time.
