Former captain, Rashid Latif, met with the newly appointed Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board management committee, Zaka Ashraf, yesterday at the PCB headquarters in Lahore.
Rashid spoke to Cricket Pakistan, stated that he received a call from Ashraf, expressing a desire to meet and discussed the matters pertaining to Pakistan cricket.
Acknowledging the importance of such discussions, Latif highlighted that he shared his insights and suggestions based on his vast experience in the game.
The 54-year-old also expressed his enthusiasm to contribute towards rectifying the affairs of the sport and offered valuable suggestions to enhance the performance and overall management of the cricketing setup.
When questioned about the possibility of accepting a position within the board, Rashid Latif clarified that no formal offer had been extended to him. He also mentioned that due to pre-scheduled commitments, he does not have sufficient time to devote all his attention to board-related matters.
Recently, the chairman of the PCB management committee, offered multiple roles to former Pakistan cricketer, Mohammad Hafeez.
The meeting between Hafeez and Ashraf took place on Thursday at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, where Hafeez extended his congratulations to Ashraf on assuming the role of PCB head once again. During their discussion, Ashraf proposed two key positions to Hafeez: the role of Pakistan's chief selector or an important role in the National Cricket Academy.
Upon receiving these offers, Hafeez expressed his gratitude to Ashraf and conveyed his enthusiasm for contributing to the betterment of Pakistan cricket. However, he requested some time to consult with his family and friends before making a final decision regarding the roles.
