Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has disclosed how he plans to target opposition batsmen during his bowling spell.
While speaking in a Youtube video, Amir said that it is important to be adaptable to different conditions.
“It has always been my habit that after I finish my over, I observe the batsman footwork from my fielding spot and see what he is trying to do,” said Amir. “These days you have to make quick changes and alter your plan if the ball is not swinging because swing is already becoming rare in modern cricket so I watch the batsman's go-to shot.”

The left-arm pacer was also happy to finally play his first One-day International (ODI) match in Pakistan.
“It is a great honor for us to play in front of our home crowds,” he said. “We were missing this thing because your stardom only rises when you are performing in front of your home crowd as their support motivates us to perform even better.”
Amir’s impressive performance against Sri Lanka in the recently-concluded ODI series helped him break into the top 10 of the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings for ODI bowlers.
The left-arm pacer jumped six places to join Australia’s Mitchell Starc at seventh position, with both left-arm bowlers equalled at 663 rating points.
The 27-year-old took four wickets in two matches against the Islanders at an average of 17.7 and a meager economy of 4.17.
