In the memorable Asia Cup 2014 match between India and Pakistan at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Bangladesh, India seemed poised for victory against their arch-rivals. However, the game took a dramatic turn when Shahid Afridi hit two remarkable sixes against Ashwin, securing a win for Pakistan and knocking India out of the tournament.

Recently, Ashwin shared an interaction with Dinesh Karthik, who is part of the commentary panel for the ICC World Cup 2023. In response, a fan took a playful jab, reminding Ashwin of Afridi's sixes and suggesting that Afridi still remembers them.

Unfazed, Ashwin acknowledged that Afridi played some impressive shots against him and graciously replied, "Those were really good shots, man. Really admired him as a great ball striker."
