Asif Ali starred as Cape Town Blitz secured a comfortable three-wicket win against Durban Heat in the third match of Mzansi Super League in Durban.

Chasing 157, Ali smashed 80 runs of just 33 deliveries with the help of seven boundaries and five sixes.

Opener Janneman Malan played a crucial knock of 31 runs at the top order.

Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj claimed three wickets for 24 runs while Marchant de Lange bagged two wickets for the losing side.

Earlier, Heat posted a fighting total of 157 on loss of five wickets, thanks to a brilliant knock of 49 runs by Khaya Zondo and Albie Morkel’s cameo of 45.

Anrich Nortje claimed four wickets for Blitz.

For his brilliant innings, Asif Ali was declared the player of the match.
