Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan has been instructed to take a ten-day break after radiology examinations revealed a Grade One tear in his right calf muscle.
As a result, he will not be able to take part in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand, which wraps up in Lahore on April 27.
Due to this injury, Azam will be leaving the Pakistan men’s cricket team and heading to the National Cricket Academy. There, he will begin his rehabilitation process under the guidance of the PCB medical panel.
The discomfort in Azam's right calf was initially noticed during batting practice before the first T20I training session at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
