Pakistan captain Babar Azam has recently provided insights into the Green Shirts' preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to take place in the USA and West Indies next month.
During a pre-series press conference, Azam emphasized the importance of unity and clarity within the team regarding the squad selection.
“You [reporters] should wait until the team [for the World Cup] is announced. For now, everyone is saying that this or that should be our team but the selection committee, captain and the management are clear on what will be our squad,” Babar said.
The right-hand batter also addressed the excitement surrounding the potential return of England's pace sensation, Jofra Archer, after a year-long hiatus.
“We are looking forward. I think he’s coming back after one year, but I am not sure. As a team, we are very excited to play Archer because we played [well against him] in the past," he said.
“If you look, we have bowlers with similar pace like Haris Rauf, Shaheen, and Amir. We are facing them every day so, we are not [afraid], we are excited,” he added.
It is worth noting that the Men in Green will play their final series before the 2024 World Cup against England, with the opening match set to take place in Leeds on May 22.
