Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan claim partnership record in T20Is

Pakistan swiftly reached the victory target of 179 within 17 overs in the third T20I against Ireland on Tuesday.

Despite losing Saim early in the third over with the score at 16, Mohammad Rizwan (56 runs off 38 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes) and Babar Azam (75 runs off 42 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes) formed yet another formidable partnership, adding 139 runs for the second wicket in just 74 balls.

This commanding win concluded Pakistan’s week-long tour of Ireland, which began with a surprising five-wicket loss in the first T20I but was followed by a strong comeback in the second T20I, where they successfully chased down a target of 194 runs with 19 balls to spare.

During the third T20I in Dublin, Pakistan's white-ball captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan achieved a remarkable milestone. They became the first pair to amass 3,000 partnership runs in T20Is and also secured the distinction of being the first batting duo to achieve 10 century partnerships.

In addition to their collective achievement, Babar Azam holds the record for participating in the most century partnerships (17) in T20Is, further highlighting his prowess as a batsman in the shortest format of the game.

Rizwan, on the other hand, marked his 13th century partnership during the match, further solidifying his reputation as a reliable contributor in partnerships for Pakistan.
