The latest ICC rankings update has brought some notable changes for Pakistan cricketers, with several players making significant progress, while others have experienced a decline.
Opening batter Fakhar Zaman, despite being sidelined for several months, managed to climb one spot, securing 17th place with 623 rating points. Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, and Saim Ayub maintained their positions in the rankings, holding 20th, 22nd, and 23rd spots, respectively. Salman Ali Agha made a jump to 79th, while Abdullah Shafique, following a series of poor performances, dropped to 98th place with 436 points.
In ODI batting, Babar Azam continues to dominate as the world’s number one batter. India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill occupy the second and third positions, respectively.
In the bowling rankings, Haris Rauf held firm in 18th place with 585 points. Naseem Shah made progress, moving up to 50th, and Mohammad Wasim Jr climbed two spots to 59th. Mohammad Nawaz remained at 72nd.
Shaheen Afridi, however, saw a setback, dropping from third place to fourth, as Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana overtook him. Afghanistan's Rashid Khan and India's Kuldeep Yadav hold the top two positions.
In Test cricket, Mohammad Rizwan, dropped five spots to 11th place with 724 points, while Babar Azam rose five places to 12th. Salman Ali Agha, moved up to 22nd, and Shan Masood made a significant leap, climbing 12 places to 45th with 550 points.
Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique faced a decline, falling to 49th and 53rd, respectively. Kamran Ghulam and Saim Ayub also dropped to 87th and 92nd positions.
Among Test bowlers, Nauman Ali and Shaheen Afridi slipped to 11th and 21st, respectively. Mohammad Abbas and Naseem Shah saw minor declines, while Abrar Ahmed made an impressive climb to 58th. Jasprit Bumrah remains the top-ranked Test bowler, followed by Pat Cummins in second and Kagiso Rabada in third.
In the T20I rankings, Babar Azam moved up to sixth place, joining his teammate Mohammad Rizwan in the top 10. Saim Ayub retained his 57th position. Australia’s Travis Head leads the rankings, with England’s Phil Salt and India’s Tilak Varma following.
For T20I bowlers, Shaheen Afridi improved to 21st, while Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi dropped to 29th and 44th, respectively. West Indies' Akeal Hosein continues to hold the top spot, with England's Adil Rashid and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga trailing behind.
