Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen move up in latest ICC Test rankings

Pakistan cricketers have seen improvements in their ICC rankings following the latest update issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.

In the Test batters list, Babar Azam has climbed two places to third, while Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan have also made gains, moving up one place each to 14th and 17th, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Test bowling rankings, Shaheen Afridi has risen one place to re-enter the top 10.

Despite maintaining his top position in the ODI batters rankings, Babar Azam faces stiff competition from India's Shubman Gill, who sits just 23 points behind in second place.

Fakhar Zaman retains his spot at number 13 in the ODI batters list, but Imam-ul-Haq has slipped one place to 16th.

In the ODI bowlers rankings, Shaheen Afridi has also climbed one place to sixth, while Haris Rauf has moved up to 23rd.

Elsewhere, India's Ravichandran Ashwin has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Test bowlers rankings following an outstanding performance in his 100th Test match against England. Ashwin's exceptional nine-wicket haul in the Dharamsala Test propelled him past teammate Jasprit Bumrah, who now shares the second position with Australia's Josh Hazlewood.

Additionally, Ashwin's Indian teammate Kuldeep Yadav has achieved a career-high rating, jumping 15 places to 16th in the Test rankings for bowlers, while New Zealand's Matt Henry has also reached a career-best ranking, moving up six spots to 12th.
