Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) eighth edition, which started last month, is about to reach its climax with playoffs, starting from February 14th. 2022.

The final would be played on February 18th 2022. Only two teams have cemented their spot in the playoffs so far. 

Two-time champions Comilla Victorian and two-time runners-up Fortune Barishal have managed 13 points each with one match remaining.

The interesting scenario remains for the other three teams which include Minister Group Dhaka, Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers. All these teams have one match remaining.

Dhaka has a slight edge over the other two teams with 9 points whereas Chattogram and Khulna are tied at 8 points with Chattogram having a slight edge with a better Net Run Rate (NRR).

Three Time Champion Dhaka will face Fortune Barishal who have already cemented their spot in the playoff today at 5:30 pm.

Dhaka may qualify for playoffs even if they lose depending upon the results of Chattogram and Khulna.

Chattogram will face Sylhet who are already knocked out of the tournament and will play for pride and Khulna will face Comilla who are also safe and already qualified for the playoffs.

Following are the scenario for qualification based on the results of each team
1.    If all three teams win their respective matches Dhaka and Chattogram will go through.
2.    If all three teams lose their respective matches Dhaka and Chattogram will go through.
3.    If Dhaka loses and Chattogram, Khulna win. Dhaka will be knocked out.
4.    If Khulna wins and Dhaka or Chattogram loses then Khulna and the winning team goes through.

In simple words, it is do or die for each team with Khulna having the toughest situation as they are depending on Dhaka or Chattogram to lose their match for keeping their chances alive in the tournament. 

Chattogram will be in action tomorrow morning against Sylhet and Khulna will be facing Comilla in the last group stage game hoping that either Dhaka or Chattogram lose their respective match.
