Champions T20 Cup: Markhors defeat Dolphins by two wickets

Markhors defeated Dolphins by 2 wickets in the fifth match of the ongoing Champions T20 Cup.

After winning the toss, Markhors opted to field first, allowing Dolphins to bat. Dolphins posted a total of 128 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. 

Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Ikhlaq was the top scorer for Dolphins, making 40 runs. Opening batter Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for a duck, while his opening partner scored 29 runs. 

Other contributors included Umar Amin with 11, Qasim Akram with 14, Mohammad Suleman with 9, Faheem Ashraf and Shayan Shaikh both scored 1, while Simran Gill was out for 7. Kashif Ali and Salman Arshad remained not out, scoring 9 and 3 runs, respectively.

For Makhors, Mohammad Nawaz took 3 wickets, Aakif Javed claimed 2, and Nisar Ahmed and Mohammad Imran each took 1 wicket.

Chasing a target of 129, Markhors reached the total in the 19th over. Opening batter Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for a duck, caught by Sahibzada off Sameen Gill’s delivery. 

Khawaja Nafi led the chase with an excellent 68 runs off 41 balls, which included 4 boundaries and 4 sixes. He was named the player of the match. 

Other contributors for Makhors included Mohammad Shehzad with 11, Abdul Samad with 1, Iftikhar Ahmed with 5, Mohammad Sarwar with 13, and Saad Masood with 9, while Nisar Ahmed was dismissed for a duck. Mohammad Nawaz scored 18, and Aakif Javed remained not out on 5.

For Dolphins, Sameen Gill was the top bowler with 3 wickets, while Qasim Akram took 2 wickets. Faheem Ashraf and Salman Arshad each claimed 1 wicket.
