Cricketers mourn loss of pacer Shahzad Azam

Islamabad-based pacer Rana Shahzad Azam passed away earlier today at the age of 36 due to cardiac arrest.

Shahzad had a great first-class record, picking up 388 wickets in 95 matches. He also represented Pakistan A in 2015. He last played domestic cricket in 2018. He played a total of 182 domestic matches, picking up 496 wickets across formats.

Shahzad was last seen playing a match with the Marylebone Cricket Club that toured Pakistan in 2020. Playing for Northern Pakistan, he conceded 30 runs and took a wicket from his quota of four overs.

After listening the news, Pakistan cricket fraternity mourned his demise and expressed shock. Shan Masood, Wahab Riaz, Yasir Arafat, Shadab Khan and others took to Twitter to share their feelings on the cricketer's passing away.
