Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal, in a Tweet on Friday, stated that he was heartbroken and hurt after his recent snub from the series against Bangladesh despite his prolific domestic form. The head coach-cum-chief selector Misbahul Haq announced the squad, that will take part in the upcoming series against Bangladesh, during a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday.
Akmal claimed that he had worked very hard in domestic cricket and would continue to do so.

“Hurt and heartbroken for not being considered for the team. I have really worked hard. Anyways, I won’t give up. I will work harder and would like to thank everyone who supported me. Jazak Allah thank you,” Akmal tweeted.
The wicketkeeper-batsman, while responding to other Tweets, stated that the heroes of a country are not supposed to be disrespected in this way.
“Hero aise zaleel nahi hotey (Heroes should not be disrespected in this way). I won’t give up. I just fail to understand the criteria [for selecting players],” he tweeted.
