The extravagant allowances of the officials in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have come under the government’s radar. The National Assembly’s Standing committee has asked for the accounts of the financial transactions, official tours and general expenditures of the PCB.
According to details, the salaries of high ranking PCB officials such as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wasim Khan have been under constant criticism and now the government is also looking into the matter.
According to a representative of the PCB, Chairman Ehsan Mani, Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Atiq Rasheed, Director Domestic Haroon Rasheed and General Manager (GM) Administration Retired Colonel Ashfaq Ahmed participated in the meeting on Friday.

The PCB has, however, excused themselves from divulging information about the salaries of employees, tours and expenditures in the standing committee meeting. According to sources, Mani stated that he was ready to provide an on-camera briefing in the next meeting but without the presence of media personnel. It should be noted that the PCB is concerned that the information could be leaked to the media which could lead to undue problems.
It should be noted that both Mani and Wasim have been under criticism for not attending the Standing committee meetings even after constant requests in the past.
