Pakistan women’s cricket team captain, Fatima Sana, arrived in Dubai on Saturday from Karachi to rejoin the squad for their final Group A match in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Fatima will lead the national side in a crucial match against New Zealand.
Fatima had returned to Karachi ahead of Pakistan’s third match against Australia following the sudden passing of her father. Her 55-year-old father, Sanaullah, passed away after suffering a heart attack while receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Before departing for Dubai, Fatima shared her emotional state, saying, "My father’s death has been a tremendous shock for me. He played a significant role in shaping my career as a cricketer. He guided and supported me at every step of the way."
She added, "Fulfilling my national responsibility was important, which is why I decided to return to Dubai. I am deeply grateful to everyone who offered their condolences during this difficult time."
Fatima Sana’s return is seen as a key boost for Pakistan’s team ahead of their vital clash with New Zealand.
