First T20I between Pakistan and South Africa to be played today

The first T20 International match between Pakistan and South Africa will be played today in Durban.

Speaking to the media in Durban, Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan expressed confidence in his team's performance, stating that just as they performed well in Australia and Zimbabwe, they are hopeful for positive results in South Africa as well.

He emphasized that the past performances of teams, including where they have played or what they have achieved, do not matter to them. "What we have done in the past also holds no significance because that is history," Rizwan said.

Rizwan further added that everyone knows Fakar Zaman is a game-changer, but he is currently unwell. He hopes Zaman will recover soon and return to the national team.

Pakistan won their last two T20I series against South Africa, securing a 2-1 victory on home grounds in February 2021, and then winning 3-1 in South Africa in April 2021.
