Government refuses PCB’s request regarding PSL media rights

The Pakistan government has refused to allow Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to open its media rights bidding for entertainment channels.

According to Daily Express, the board had requested the government to allow entertainment channels to take part in the process — along with the sports channels — for the upcoming season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in order to get more profit.

The board will accept bids for media rights for PSL4 till 11PM on Friday, December 14. PCB will then evaluate all the bids and one with the highest value will be granted the rights to show PSL matches live on TV.

It must be noted that the rights for video clips will be separately sold — for which bids can be submitted till December 24.
