Harbhajan Singh slams Pakistan's performance after 228-run loss to India

Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat against India in the Super Four match of the 2023 Asia Cup, losing by a massive margin of 228 runs in Colombo on Monday.

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh minced no words in highlighting the shortcomings of the Pakistan team during the match.

"From Pakistan's perspective, they got nothing out of this match except for getting tired. Bowling was too weak, even the state of the batting was the same, a very poor batting performance. No Pakistani batter showed that they had the ability to play against quality seam and swing bowling and score runs," Harbhajan said.

Harbhajan also hit back at the former PCB chairman Najam Sethi, who had suggested that the Men in Blue are afraid to play against Pakistan.

"I have a message for Najam Sethi. He had said that Team India are afraid of playing against Pakistan, I hope he saw the kind of performance that Team India put up, a record win. I hope he must have got his answer, so keep your boys ready for the next game," he further added.

Pakistan lost to India by a massive margin of 228 runs. In response to India's imposing total of 356 runs, the national team could only muster 128 runs in 32 overs, marking it as India's most significant victory in One Day International (ODI) cricket against Pakistan.

This loss ranks as Pakistan's second-worst defeat in ODI history, with the previous record being a 234-run loss to Sri Lanka in 2009.

It's worth noting that due to persistent rain and a damaged outfield, the crucial match between Pakistan and India in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup was rescheduled from Sunday to Monday.
