Haris Rauf, Usama Mir shine in BBL 13, Imad Wasim creates history in T20 cricket

In a thrilling match between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 13th edition at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Tuesday, Pakistan's wrist spinner Usama Mir delievered a stellar bowling performance.

Mir's exceptional day with the ball played a crucial role in restricting the Sydney Sixers to 154 runs in their allotted overs. The wrist-spinner picked up three important wickets, providing his team with much-needed breakthroughs.

Among his victims were Daniel Hughes, Moises Henriques (Sixers' captain), and Jordan Silk, leaving the Sixers struggling at 45/4 in 8.4 overs.

Usama Mir was not alone in making an impact, as he was joined by his national teammates Haris Rauf and Imad Wasim.

Imad Wasim, playing his first match for the Stars after joining the team on Monday, made history in T20 cricket. The all-rounder became one of the select few cricketers to hit 1000+ runs and take 50+ wickets in a calendar year in T20s.

This achievement puts him in an elite list alongside the likes of Kieron Pollard (2010), Azhar Mahmood (2012), and Andre Russell (2016).

Haris Rauf also contributed significantly to the Stars' cause, showcasing his prowess with three wickets in the final over. Among his victims were Jack Edwards, Joel Davies and Ben Dwarshuis.
