Hasan Ali smashes five sixes during 35-ball fifty, takes 2/14 for Warwickshire

Hasan Ali showcased his impressive batting skills once again for Warwickshire during the 2023 County Championship.

On Monday against Nottinghamshire in a Division One fixture in Nottingham, Hasan played a blistering innings, reaching his half-century in just 35 balls. At lunch on the second day, Warwickshire had amassed a massive score of 524-7 in their first innings, with Hasan remaining unbeaten on 54 off 35 deliveries. He was accompanied by wicketkeeper Michael Burgess, who contributed 50 runs off 76 balls.

However, shortly after lunch, Hasan was dismissed by Calvin Harrison without any more runs to his tally, concluding his boundary-filled innings that featured three fours and five sixes.

Hasan's assault with the bat began against Harrison, as he struck a six off the second ball he faced. He went on to hit four more sixes, one of which brought up his half-century off just 35 balls, sealing an outstanding performance.

In May, Hasan played a crucial innings of 53 not out off 37 balls for Warwickshire in their first innings, leading them to a four-wicket victory against Essex in a low-scoring match.

Remarkably, Hasan has become the only batter in Division One of the County Championship to hit 10 sixes in the ongoing season.

His impactful performance was not limited to his batting, as he carried the same momentum into his bowling. By the end of second day's play, he took two wickets in five overs, conceding only 14 runs and reducing Nottinghamshire to a score of 82/5.
