How much will the cricket committee cost PCB?

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s newly formed cricket committee has raised questions about conflict of interest and excessive expenditures.

The four-member committee will assist and advise PCB chairman in relation to plans for promotion and conduct of game at all levels.

The committee will be chaired by former Pakistan Head Coach Mohsin Hasan Khan while other members include former Pakistan captains Wasim Akram and Misbahul Haq and former Women’s captain and selector Urooj Mumtaz.

According to Daily Express, each member of the committee will receive remuneration of 55,000 PKR per session, where 50,000 will be related to special allowance while 5,000 will be daily allowance.

The members will also stay in a five-star hotel while also receiving air tickets and transport services for travelling purposes.

It must be noted that PCB Chief Operating Officer (COO) Subhan Ahmed had stated during the press conference on Friday that massive amounts won’t be spent to keep the committee operational.

“The committee members won’t be remunerated with fixed salaries and only receive minimal amounts for the work they are doing,” he said.

Also there is an issue of conflict of interest as three members of the committee — Akram, Misbah and Urooj hold different designations which are related to cricketing activities in the country.
