Ever since Imad Wasim's return to the Pakistan Super League as the skipper of Karachi Kings and to the national T20I team earlier in the year against Afghanistan, he has been a force to reckon with, particularly with the ball.
The 34-year-old has delivered impressively with the bat, but what makes him stand out is his bowling ability. Only some spinners can bowl in the powerplay, but more than that, very few of them can bowl with sheer precision, and undoubtedly Imad made that one of his robust strengths.
The slow left-arm orthodox bowler, while giving an exclusive interview to Cricket Pakistan, talked about what he intends to do in his next and probably his last four or five years in cricket, where he is more inclined towards enjoying both his batting and bowling.
"My batting form hasn't dipped, and it's the same. I am enjoying both batting and bowling right now, to be very honest. These are my last four to five years, where I want to enjoy cricket and express it in a different way. So this is what I am trying, and things have been going exactly as I want them to be. I will try my level best to continue this, improve it even more, and bring more brilliance to both of my fortes," Imad said.
Upon being asked whether his return to the international field after a long-drawn break was anxious or normal, he described it as rather normal since his center of focus has always been to serve the country.
"Everything was absolutely normal. Of course, it's an honor to play for the country, for Pakistan. Rest everything was smooth and normal. There is a different buzz when you are playing for the country, so it was definitely there," he further added.
Since his T20I comeback, Imad has struck a purple patch where he took eight important wickets in five matches at an average of 10.37 and an economy of 5.93 against New Zealand.
