Imam-ul-Haq alleges unfair treatment in Pakistan cricket team

Imam-ul-Haq, the Pakistan cricketer and nephew of former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, has made shocking allegations regarding his treatment within the national team.

During a recent appearance on a local TV show, the 28-year-old expressed concerns about being treated unfairly, prompting widespread discussion on social media platform X, where the video clip has gone viral.

Imam, who last represented Pakistan in a Test match against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in December 2023, has notable career statistics, having scored 1,568 runs in 24 Test matches at an average of 37.33, including three centuries and nine fifties. His One Day International (ODI) record is equally impressive, with 3,138 runs from 72 matches at an average of 48.27, boasting nine centuries and 20 fifties.

During the live interview, host Tabish Hashmi directly asked Imam if he felt he had been treated unfairly within the team. After a moment of reflection, Imam replied with a decisive “Yes.” When Hashmi later inquired whether his uncle Inzamam was a better captain than Misbah-ul-Haq, Imam agreed, adding fuel to the ongoing debate about leadership in Pakistan cricket.

In a lighter segment of the show, Imam was humorously asked whether Babar Azam should step down from his opening role to consider marriage. He quickly responded with a firm “No,” showcasing his camaraderie with Babar, with whom he has formed a formidable opening partnership in both Tests and ODIs.
