The Indian cricket team reached Brisbane on Wednesday in preparation for the third Test of the ongoing five-match series against Australia. The crucial match is set to take place at the Gabba from December 14 to 18.
Led by skipper Rohit Sharma, the team was spotted exiting the Brisbane airport, according to Indian media. After a demoralizing 10-wicket loss in the second Test, the visitors are determined to recover and regain momentum in the series.
While the Australian team travelled to Brisbane, the Indian squad remained in Adelaide to focus on improving their red-ball performance through rigorous training sessions.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who missed the opening Test in Perth due to the birth of his second child, rejoined the team for the second Test in Adelaide. In a strategic move, Sharma shifted to the number six position to retain the opening pair of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had been instrumental in India’s 295-run victory in the first Test.
However, the adjustment did not yield the desired results, as Sharma struggled with the bat, scoring just nine runs in the pink-ball Test. To address his form, Sharma spent considerable time in the nets, practicing against both pace and spin bowlers.
Similarly, star batter Virat Kohli, who ended a 16-month wait for a century in the series opener, dedicated himself to intense practice sessions following a disappointing performance in the second Test.
The series, currently tied at 1-1, promises to deliver high-stakes cricket as both teams gear up for the Brisbane clash.
