Indo-Pak matches always have pressure: Nida Dar

Pakistan women’s team captain Nida Dar has conceded that there is always pressure when it comes to Indo-Pak matches.

Speaking ahead of her side’s World T20 clash against arch-rivals India on Sunday, November 11 at Guyana National Stadium in Providence, Dar said that nature of this encounter is such that the teams face pressure from all corners.

“These matches always have pressure, from the Indian side, the Pakistani side, from our families,” said Nida Dar according to International Cricket Council (ICC) website.

Pakistan were far from impressive in their opening match against Australia which resulted in the team’s defeat by 52 runs but Dar said that the team will step onto the field in the next match with a positive frame of mind.

“We play the games with a different kind of passion, and it brings its own unique feeling. Compared to other matches, we play with double the emotion. We’re hoping for the best wishes of people back home,” she said.

On the other hand, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur notched up her maiden Twenty20 International century and the first by an Indian woman as her team kick-started their campaign with a 34-run win against New Zealand.

Both teams are placed in group B of the ongoing Women’s World T20 alongside New Zealand, Ireland and Australia.
