Intense battle on the cards as United take on Zalmi in crucial HBL PSL 7 match

Peshawar Zalmi will take on injury-hit Islamabad United in a crucial encounter as both sides look to get close to affirming their place in the playoffs of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season seven.

Wahab Riaz led Zalmi have won their previous two matches convincingly which puts them in a comfortable position on the points table with eight points.

Islamabad United, who were able to clinch a victory from the claws of Karachi Kings by one run despite the injuries and unavailability of their star players, are also in a decent position with eight points with three more matches in the bag.

Islamabad United has a lot to worry about as their team combination has been disturbed due to the unavailability of Alex Hales and Paul Stirling, In addition to this blow, their captain Shadab Khan and young pacer Zeeshan Zameer also got injured in the last match. Colin Munro's fitness is also uncertain and his unavailability will leave Islamabad in a very vulnerable position.

Zalmi have gained momentum in their last two games and would like to continue their winning form. The good news is that all players are in touch and Zalmi has found the best combination at the right time of the tournament.

The teams seem to enjoy playing against each other as they have faced 16 times with both winning eight matches respectively.

The match will start at 7:30 pm at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
