An independent adjudicator on Monday upheld opener Nasir Jamshed’s 10-year ban for his alleged role in the spot-fixing scandal in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
As per details, the Anti-Corruption Tribunal had banned the 28-year-old after declaring him the main culprit in the scandal which also involved Islamabad United’s openers Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif.
Justice (R) Mian Hamid Farooq — who led the independent adjudicator — ruled that Jamshed’s punishment has been found to be 'perfectly justified' and shall continue to remain in force.
The two additional sanctions imposed by the Anti-Corruption Tribunal regarding Jamshed’s inclusion in the list of players to be avoided by cricketers and all stakeholders and not to be given an important role in the management or administration of cricket, have been set aside as they fall outside the confines provided under Article 6.2 of the PCB's Anti-Corruption Code.
