Lahore Blues, Whites register convincing wins in National T20 Cup

Lahore Blues and Lahore Whites won their matches in convincing fashion during the National T20 Cup in Multan.

In the first match of the day, Lahore Blues defeated Rawalpindi by five wickets.

Batting first, Rawalpindi posted a modest total of 117 runs on the board, after being asked to bat first by their opponents.

Aizaz Cheema and Saad Nasim picked up three wickets each — which helped restrict Rawalpindi to a low total.

The Blues chased down the target with five wickets and similar number of balls remaining.

Salman Ali Agha scored 38 runs for the winning side.

In the other match of the day, Lahore overpowered Islamabad by 22 runs.

Lahore Whites posted 167-4 in their allotted 20 overs, after winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Salman Butt (63) and Kamran Akmal (54) scored half-centuries for the Whites.

In reply, Islamabad could only muster 145-8 at the end of 20 overs — with Abid Ali top-scoring with 30 runs.

For Whites, Bilal Asif claimed three wickets.
