Pakistan all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, has said that if he were in Babar Azam's position, he would have left Pakistan captaincy and focused more on his batting.
He then recommended that those who are close to Babar should advise him to consider relinquishing the captaincy role.
"Babar Azam is a great batter but we do injustice by putting his leadership qualities and batting ability on the same scale," Malik said on a local TV channel.
Malik also cited the example of India’s legend, Sachin Tendulkar, who made a plethora of batting records after leaving captaincy.
"This will help Babar Azam make more records on an international level as the pressure on him will be limited to his batting," he concluded.
