Scotland went into the game knowing that a victory would ensure their qualification for the T20 World Cup Super 12s and that is exactly what they managed to achieve.

The Scots were asked to bowl first and restricted Oman to 122 and chased down the target in the 17th over to ensure their qualification.

Batting first, Oman got off to a terrible start after a mix-up between Jatinder Singh and Aqib Ilyas which saw the former return to the pavilion on the second ball of the innings.

Ilyas went on to top score with 37 off 35 balls but the home side failed to cope with Scotland's motivated bowling attack.

Including Ilyas, only three players managed to get to the double figures as Josh Davey took three wickets and leaked only 25 runs.

In return, although Scotland lost both openers George Munsey (20) and Kyle Coetzer (41), they managed to reach the target comfortably and won by 8 wickets.

Matthew Cross and Richie Berrington scored unbeaten 26* and 31* respectively to guide Scotland to a historical victory.

The only success Oman's bowling attack found was through Fayyaz Butt and Khawar Ali.

Scotland have finished ahead of Bangladesh which means they will be joining India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and the winner of Namibia versus Ireland in Group 2.

The Men in Green will come up against Scotland on November 7.
