Lynn’s century overshadows Naseem Shah’s magnificent bowling spell

Chris Lynn's extraordinary batting performance stole the spotlight as they comfortably won the match by eight wickets against Leicestershire on Friday at County Ground, Northampton. 

Northamptonshire's Lynn played a match-winning innings, as he scored an unbeaten 110* runs off 68 deliveries, which included 13 fours and five sixes.

Naseem Shah delivered an exceptional four-over spell, as he took the wicket of opening batter Emilio Gay (13) within the powerplay and finished with figures of 1/20.

 

After Emolio was dismissed, Captain David Willey teamed up with Lynn and formed a partnership of 81 runs and came close to winning the match comfortably. Later on, Naveen ul Haq had a significant impact with the ball and got Miller out for 20.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Leicestershire managed to post a total of 164/8 in the first innings. Middle-order batter, Louis Kimber played an outstanding knock of 41 runs from 27 deliveries, including two fours and three sixes.

Struggling at 134/7 in the 18th over, the team received a valuable contribution from Naveen-ul-Haq, who played a brilliant cameo of 25 runs off eight deliveries, which included one boundary and three massive sixes, ultimately helping his side to reach a formidable total.
