Pakistan’s head coach-cum-chief selector Misbahul Haq has enforced drastic changes to the diet and nutrition plans for the players featuring in domestic tournaments and international cricket for the country.
The changes have been applied to the ongoing domestic tournament, the Quaid-e-Azam (QeA) Trophy, and would be applied to the national team in the future.
The decision was taken inorder to improve the overall fitness levels of the athletes of the country.
"No more Biryani or oil rich red meat meals or sweet dishes for the players now," said a member of a catering company managing the food plan for the players in a match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, according to the Press Trust of India.

Cricketers in Pakistan are prone to the consumption of junk foods which can have an adverse effect on their fitness levels. The players have now been warned to adhere to strict dietary restrictions if they hope to find a place in the national side.
"Pakistani players are known to have a fondness for junk food and rich oily dishes when they are not playing for the national team but Misbah has told every player that a log book will be maintained on their fitness and diet plans and anyone found lacking would be shown the door," a source, aware of the developments, said.
