Mixed reactions from across the border after PCB’s deal with Indian broadcaster

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday announced a three-year deal with Sony Pictures Networks India to broadcast all Pakistan’s international and Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in India.

"The PCB welcomes Sony Pictures Networks India to its list of elite broadcasters who will have rights to Pakistan's bilateral series and PSL 2021-23. Through this partnership, cricket fans in South Asia will be able to follow and enjoy high-quality cricket action in Pakistan across all formats featuring some of the finest modern-day stars," said PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan in a statement.

While the aforementioned news was welcomed by majority in Pakistan, there were mixed reactions across the border due to strained political relations between the two countries.

Cricket fans in Pakistan hailed the cricket board for acquiring a major broadcaster for the national team and PSL.

Some cricket fans in India were also looking forward to see the Men in Green in action.

Whereas, few Twitter users in India wanted the Government of India to intervene in the matter.
