Mohammad Yousuf to be named Pakistan’s interim coach for Afghanistan series

Former Pakistan cricketer, Mohammad Yousuf, is likely to be named Pakistan’s interim coach for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.

As per reports, PCB is still in talks with Mickey Arthur regarding the head coach role and the agreement is yet to be finalized. Hence, Yousuf is being considered for the temporary position. A local support staff is likely to be named along with Yousuf.

Yousuf was previously serving as the batting coach of the national team, while Saqlain served as the head coach under the administration of Ex-PCB chairman, Ramiz Raja.

Last month, PCB Management Committee Chairman, Najam Sethi, had said that the talks with Arthur are almost eighty percent completed. An announcement can be expected soon.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Tuesday announced the schedule for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, which will be played from March 25 to 29 in Sharjah, UAE.

The series will commence on March 25 in Sharjah, with the second and third games between the two teams taking place on March 27th and 29th, respectively, all at the same venue.

Afghanistan has played Pakistan several times in ACC and ICC events in recent years, but this will be the first time the two countries meet in a three-match T20I series.
