Quetta Gladiators’ Head coach Moin Khan believes left-hand batsman Ben Dunk’s lucky day with the bat played a major contribution in Lahore Qalandars’ 37-run win over his team on Tuesday at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Dunk and all-rounder Samit Patel crafted an incredible partnership of 155 runs, the highest fourth-wicket stand and second highest overall in HBL PSL history, in 73 balls to help Qalandars to a mammoth 209 for five against Quetta.
Dunk, who batted at one-drop, smashed 10 sixes, the most in an HBL PSL innings, as he scored a blistering 93 at a strike-rate of over 216.

While speaking to media, the former wicketkeeper was also critical of his team’s bowling performance in the aforementioned game.
"The team has not been performing the way I had imagined. In the bowling department they made plenty of mistakes against the Qalandars while it was also Ben Dunk’s lucky day," Moin said. "Anything can happen in a T20 league, and any player can rise and perform well on a good day."
Hence, the Gladiators head coach has decided to rely on his teams’ stronger suit in the future matches of the tournament.
"We believe in our batting, therefore, if we win the toss we will choose to bowl,” he said.
