Moin Khan suggests two Pakistan players for Australia tour

Former Pakistani wicketkeeper Moin Khan has recommended the inclusion of two players, Saim Ayub and Shan Masood, in the Pakistan cricket team for their upcoming tour to Australia in December 2023.

Saim scored 553 runs in eight innings in the recently-concluded Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and was adjudged player of the final after he became the first cricketer to score both a century and a double-century in the prestigious tournament's final.  Meanwhile, Shan Masood was also in prime form and scored 341 runs in six innings at an average of 56.83.

Expressing his opinion on a local sports show, Moin emphasized the importance of giving young players exposure to challenging conditions.

“For this tour [to Australia], Saim deserves the call and he should go. Not only Saim, but Shan [Masood] also scored a lot of runs in first-class cricket and he is a contender as well,” Moin said.

“Young players should be given exposure on these tough conditions. The team should consist of [young] fast bowlers as well as the batters,” he added.

Moin discussed the learning opportunities provided by playing cricket in Australia, stating that it is the best place to enhance one's cricketing skills.

“I believe that if there is one place where you can learn [about cricket], it’s Australia. You get a lot of exposure there. [There are] different pitches, when you play in difficult conditions and score runs, you become a better cricketer and then you are ready to face any team in the world,” he added.
