Nawaz, Haider - The game changers win hearts

Pakistan middle-order stepped up as Haider Ali and Mohammad Nawaz played match-winning knocks for Pakistan to win the final match of the tri-nation series against New Zealand at the Hagley Oval stadium in Christchurch.

New Zealand batting first scored 163/7 with their captain Kane Williamson playing a crucial knock of 59 runs from 38 deliveries with four fours and two sixes.

Pakistan at the start struggled as they scored just 64 runs in ten overs with Babar Azam and Shan Masood returning back to the pavilion.

Haider Ali (31) and Mohammad Nawaz (38) paired up for crucial partnership of 56 runs from 22 deliveries.

Haider Ali was later on dismissed by Tim Southee as he stroked 31 runs off 15 balls with three fours and two sixes.

Iftikhar Ahmed chipped in with 25 runs from 14 deliveries with one four and hitting one huge six, taking Pakistan to a win.

Mohammad Nawaz was declared Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
