Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim was full of praise for his franchise head coach Dean Jones after his team’s four-wicket victory over Islamabad United on Saturday, which ensured a semi-final berth for Kings in HBL PSL 5.
While speaking during the post-match press conference at National Stadium, Karachi, the all-rounder highlighted the aggressive mentality that Jones has instilled in the Kings’ squad.
“I have worked with many coaches. We worked with Mickey Arthur who also did a great job for Kings but I think I have never worked with a coach like Jones considering his aggressive mindset,” said Imad. “He brings in a lot of positivity and game awareness and I am sure every single player has the same opinion for him.”

The 31-year-old all-rounder wants to continue the winning ways before entering the knock-out stage of the tournament.
“There are no weak links in the team so far and the whole team has played exceptionally well,” he said. “We are aiming to win our last round match against Quetta Gladiators to continue the winning momentum before playing the semi-final.”
Imad described the Karachi fans as his team’s 12th man and missed playing in front of a full house at National Stadium.
“It was a tough decision to exclude crowd from the tournament but I think it was for the betterment of everyone. We missed our people at the stadium but we will try to not disappoint them and win the title for our fans,” he said.
