New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9. The team will also compete in a tri-nation series against Pakistan and South Africa from February 8 to 14.
Mitchell Santner, the bowling all-rounder who recently took over as New Zealand’s white-ball captain, will lead the side. This will mark Santner's debut as captain in a senior ICC event.
The squad includes a balanced mix of experienced players and young talent. Emerging pacers Will O’Rourke, Ben Sears, and Nathan Smith are set to make their first appearance in a senior ICC tournament.
Santner will also play a key role as the team’s primary spinner, supported by versatile all-rounders Michael Bracewell, Glenn Phillips, and Rachin Ravindra.
The pace attack will be led by Matt Henry, with support from seasoned fast bowler Lockie Ferguson. The batting lineup, spearheaded by former captain Kane Williamson, includes Devon Conway, Will Young, Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, and Ravindra.
Jacob Duffy has been named as a standby player and could replace Ferguson if he becomes unavailable due to ILT20 playoff commitments.
New Zealand is placed in Group A for the Champions Trophy and will face hosts Pakistan in the tournament opener on February 19 in Karachi.
