The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to unveil the national team for the upcoming white-ball tour of Australia, with the announcement to be made by the newly formed selection committee.
According to sources, former cricketers Aaqib Javed and Azhar Ali are expected to be included in the panel. Both have shown willingness to work with the PCB, and their roles will extend beyond team selection, focusing on the development of young talent within the squad.
Interestingly, former ICC elite umpire Aleem Dar is also expected to be appointed to the new committee.
This comes after former captain Mohammad Yousuf resigned from his post, prompting the board to expand the selection committee. Asad Shafiq will continue to serve as a selector alongside the head coach, maintaining consistency within the committee.
The official squad announcement for the white-ball series against Australia is anticipated next week. Pakistan’s national team is set to depart for Sydney on October 29, where they will face Australia in three ODIs and three T20 Internationals from November 4 to November 18.
