Pakistan beats India to win 7th Lawyers' Cricket World Cup

Pakistan Lawyers Cricket Team B defeated India’s Lawyers’ Cricket Team B by 24 runs in the final of the 7th Lawyers' Cricket World Cup in New Zealand on Wednesday to claim the Plate Championship.

Batting first, the Pakistan Lawyers Cricket Team B made 192 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted overs. Batsman Atif Beg top scored with 48 runs off 49 balls while all other batsmen chipped in with double digit scores to help propel Pakistan to a dominant score.

 India, in response, were blown away for 169 after a spirited bowling display from bowlers Mohammad Najeeb Jamali and Mohammad Ali Lakhani who shared six wickets between them. Economical bowling from bowlers Hasan Meerza and Suleman Huda (Captain), who took two and one wickets respectively, had built the initial pressure on the opposition.

Mohammad Najeeb Jamali was adjudged the player-of-the-match for his scintillating spell in the final.

The Plate Championship was awarded to the Pakistan Lawyers' Cricket Team B after the end of their successful 7th Lawyers' Cricket World Cup campaign.
