Pakistan, with their 66-run convincing win against Australia, have paved their way towards the silverware, and former cricketer Abdul Razzaq believes Pakistan’s bowling has once again proven its worth.

Sarfraz Ahmed and co beat Australia courtesy a bowling attack comprised of Imad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf, while Shaheen Shah Afridi’s wickets gave them additional support.

One of the best all-rounders for Pakistan, Razzaq, while commenting on the bowling performance of Pakistan said the young attack can trouble any team in the world.

“The boys have done really well in the first T20I. They have proved that they are the top team in the world in this format,” he told The Express Tribune. “The young bowling attack has not only made the team stronger but they have proven that the new bowlers can bring a huge change in the team.”

He added that bowlers did a brilliant job in the first T20I.

“This was one of the best bowling performances for viewers. Watching Australia fall one by one was a good thing to watch. The boys have included many varieties and the line and length they pick, they know what they are doing,” he said. “They know where they are bowling and what the other batsman is thinking. The ability to read batsman’s mind helps to bowl on wickets like these. They are so good at this and to read the foot movement of the batsman, that was exceptional."

Talking about Imad, who made a comeback after 12 months, he said: “Imad made it clear that although fitness is the top priority of the team but still player has to keep on working on improving his performances. He was dropped due to fitness, but he came back with an even more effective bowler. He worked on his bowling skills during his time away from cricket which was clearly visible. He was choosing exactly the right line and length for the batsmen."

He added that the way he playing with the mind of the batsmen was so good to see as a bowler.

“It gives so much pleasure to watch this type of bowling,” he said. 

Talking about the second T20I he said Pakistan can win the next two matches if they keep their bowling attack intact.

“Faheem who used to come a bit late was brought earlier and he was able to give same crucial wickets to the team and for this the credit goes to the smart strategy of captain Sarfraz, who knows his bowlers so well,” he said.
